Description

Betta native to a small region on the western shore of Borneo in Indonesia. It prefers blackwater environments and should have soft acidic water that is well filtered. They should be kept at temperatures in the mid 70s F. Pairs can be housed in a 5 gallon tank, while groups should be housed in a 20 gallon tank or larger. Pairs should be given cover such as caves and plants. This species is highly variable and has been observed both mouthbrooding and bubblenesting.
