Betta dimidiata is native to the island of Borneo and can be found in Indonesia along the northwestern border of Malaysia. It is a paternal mouthbrooder that incubates from 7 to 12 days with 9 days being very consistent. They are very tolerant of water chemistry and should be housed in temperatures cool to mid 70s F. Pairs can be housed in a 10 gallon tank, while groups should be housed in a 20 gallon tank or larger. Pairs should be given cover such as caves and plants.
