Betta native to Indonesia. Found in forest streams with moderate current, in very shallow water among plant roots and leaf litter. They prefer soft acidic water but are highly tolerant of water chemistry and thrive in almost any type of water that is cool to mid-70s F, Betta albimarginata can be housed in pairs, species tanks and community tanks. A paternal mouthbrooder, B. albimarginata males are more intensely colored than females and incubate their eggs from 10 to 15 days.
