A squeaker catfish native to the Aswa River basin (type locality, Nile system) in Uganda, Africa. Found near or just above the river floor, it feeds on plant detritus, organic matter, small invertebrates, algae and biofilm. An oviparous egg laying species which forms a distinct pair during breeding.
