Description

Native to the Upper Rio Ameca basin including the Teuchitlan River and Springs in Mexico, Zoogoneticus tequila is a livebearer inhabiting streams and springs. It prefers warm, hard, slow-moving water. This is an omnivore. Both plant and protein can be fed. However, a slightly larger portion of protein is acceptable. Examples of foods to feed include live baby brine shrimp, freeze-dried daphnia, spirulina algae, blanched vegetables, and nori.
