Description

Native to the Middle Rio Lerma and Rio Morelia basins in Mexico, Zoogoneticus quitzeoensis is a livebearer inhabiting streams and springs. It prefers cool to warm, hard, slow-moving water. This is a carnivore, feeding on primarily protein such as live baby brine shrimp, freeze-dried daphnia and some bloodworms. However, plant material such as spirulina algae, blanched vegetables, and nori can be added if accepted.
