Description

The Etzatlan Splitfin is native to the Endorheic Rio Etzatlan and Lago Magdalena basins in Mexico. It is a livebearer inhabiting streams and springs. It prefers cool to warm, hard, slow moving water and is an omnivore feeding primarily on algae and detritus, along with some invertebrates.
