Native to the Endorheic White River Basin in Nevada, U.S.A., Crenichthys baileyi 'moapae' is an egg-layer inhabiting springs, unique in its preference for slow-moving, warm to hot, hard and alkaline water. This is an omnivore with a diet that consists of a balance of plant material and protein. Examples of foods to feed include spirulina algae, blanched vegetables, nori, live baby brine shrimp and freeze-dried daphnia.
