Splitfin native to Mexico. Found in clear springs with plant growth. This is an omnivore with a diet that consists of a balance of plant material and protein, however, it can tolerate a little more protein than some other species. Examples of foods to feed include spirulina algae, blanched vegetables, nori, live baby brine shrimp and freeze-dried daphnia.
