Description

The Rainbow Characodon is native to the Upper Rio Mezquital and Tunal River drainage in Mexico. It is a livebearer inhabiting springs. It prefers cool to warm, hard, slow moving water and is an omnivore feeding primarily on invertebrates along with some algae and detritus.
