Description

Native to the Upper Rio Panuco Basin and Rio Verde Drainage including Lake Media Luna in Mexico, Ataeniobius toweri is a livebearer inhabiting streams, lakes and springs. It prefers warm, hard, slow-moving water. This is an omnivore with a diet that consists of plant material and small amounts of protein, leaning more to plant than protein. Examples of foods to feed include spirulina algae, blanched vegetables, nori, live baby brine shrimp and freeze-dried daphnia.
