Description

A small, sand-dwelling cichlid of the shallow waters where males defend bowers at depths of 2-4 meters. Females live in schools and visit breeding arenas. It filters its prey, crustaceans and insect larvae, from the top layer of the substrate. It had a tiny distribution and was easy to collect. It is feared the species has been extirpated from the wild.
